Review of Aquaman (2018) by Randi D — 30 Dec 2018
Just saw Aquaman and I must say they outdid my expectations by a long stretch! I was very much entertained and totally on board with the believability of the story. They took their time telling it and the special effects were seemless. No movie is perfect but how many have I seen where the audience clapped at the end? Not since Lord of the Rings movies. The audience clapped at the end of this movie! There of course was some predictable stuff and I would have preferred not to have wilem dafoe in any character in this movie because all I could see what who he played in Spiderman. He was an unfortunate choice for this movie. We would have been better served to have an unknown as the character he played. Surprisingly dolph lundgren was really good here and Nicole Kidman fit in fine. Jason Momoa was believable and powerful. His human dad was less than optimal and another choice of actor might have let me believe that a queen of Atlantis would be attracted enough to want to stay with him and have a child and be so in love with him to want to go back to him when she could habe everything that had been lost to her. I just didnt feel it with those two. (They had a well known new zealand Maori.
actor in the part.) overall with the exception of Willem Dafoes performance I would definitely say it is worth the $$ to see it in the theaters. Its one I know I will get when it comes out on.
Blue ray for sure.
