Review of Aquaman (2018) by Christopher B — 24 Dec 2018
Aquaman has a huge issue and it's that the movie had "too much to do." Ultimately an hour should be cut out of this movie. At 2 and a half hour there's a point where the explosions begin to fall flat like a Michael Bay transformers movie. The visuals are impressive (especially the night diving scene) but in the end it suffers from quite a few predictable problems.
Story wise the movie talks AT you.
Some acting performances fall really flat and aren't tonally consistent.
And finally much of this movie is completely forgettable while also adding nothing to the final resolution.
This movie suffers from too many ideas that in the end it's a mixed bag.
