Review of Aquaman (2018) by Shane C — 21 Dec 2018

This movie is extremely generic, with cliche dialogue delivered soullessly or, at times, laughably. I couldnt shake the impression that the leads simply couldnt find it in themselves to do any more than weakly pretend to care. Every single beat has been better done in other movies, and while I wouldnt say any of this is particulary worthy of being called bad, the action choreography is (and logic...what fool would ask for a sidearm like a sword over a primary weapon like a polearm?). This all comes together for an underwhelmingly "meh" experience that has no place sitting over a 50%.

It is, however, an improvement from the DC movies released as of late...but praising this is like praising a janitor for sterilizing the dirt on the floor but ultimately leaving it there.
