In a totally bold move, James Wan exceeds expectations of both DC and Marvel fans alike by introducing a new visual standard to all Superhero movies. Make no mistake, it's broken all barriers and limits on what 'can be done' in a superhero origin movie.
We have seen movie directors explore epic landscapes and lavish mountains and forests, space filled with limitless stars and its wonders. But very few have dared to reimagine what covers over 70% of Earth, the oceans and seas.
Every inch what we see underwater in this movie have been carefully planned and put there. In many ways Aquaman changes the visual effects game just like James Cameron achieved with Avatar in 2009.
In a way Aquaman is a fresh start for DC, coming back from memories of an underperforming Justice League which was planned to be the crown jewel of the DC universe (not without its many setbacks that led to it's failure).
Challenge now is to place other godly heroes of DC world in this new 'Aquaman universe' where the rightful king of Atlantis commands 70% of Earth. A truly remarkable tribute to Aquaman and a token of gratitude for the unwavering loyalty and hopefulness of all DC fans.
Take a bow James Wan and the team behind Aquaman. One of the greatest achievements in superhero movie genre.
