It works even when it shouldn't. However, the music choices were really distracting throughout, either not quite synced to the action as with the submarine sequence, or just too poppy and out of place.
At best some of the choices felt like a TV movie made for teens. Still, a fun, wild ride that really made me believe in Fishman.
