Very close to jumping the sharks with lasers on their heads! With Aquaman Warner Bros. DC continues to swing back from the Snyder BvS abyss with the explosively colorful, intentionally cheesy, self-aware , video gamey, over-the-top action piece.
It certainly feels like no one other than Jason Momoa could do this version of hero as wise-ass. He is undoubtedly the best thing about this $200-$300 million VFX buffet for eyeballs. Bottom line, the cheese was grating for my taste.
I presume the score was trying to be cheesy too, because it is truly cringe worthy. But if you were looking a reason for Pitbull to cover Totoâ(TM)s Africa at full blast, while characters literally go to Africa, we have the movie for you.
