If nothing else this movie will make you appreciate the importance of character. There are undeniably beautiful scenes, and the action escalates to the point of near absurdity by the final battle. But it doesnt matter how much they throw at you, if you dont really care about the characters and there arent any stakes (Aquaman is nigh indestructible and you know how the movie is going to end from the beginning) it just becomes one big yawn.
