Review of April Fool's Day (1986) by Daryl T — 10 May 2011
For me, this is probably the worst slasher film from the 80s height of the genre. It is a bit later than the so-called "Golden Age," and it disappoints more fundamentally than of the earlier films.
It tries to play metafictional games with the genre by using the April Fool's theme, but it ends up just being predictable, lame, and boring. Less funny, less brutal, and less memorable than almost any other 80s slasher film, April Fool's Day is crap through and through.
It's not even worth watching for the cheesy comedy factor--it's just boring crap.
