Review of Appleseed: Ex Machina (2007) by Dai L — 17 Mar 2008
Action, check. Uncanny valley, check. Coherent story... mmm, I KNEW we were missing something.
Say you want to shut down a research program because it has the potential to cause serious infractions against humanity, yet, you give them enough money AFTER you shut them down so they have the resources to build a giant fortress made of floating cubes that has its own suicide squad of robotic drones. Hmm.
This is not a movie for the thinking man/woman, but it showcases the pure evolution of computer animation technology to the point where you can be exhausted by the pure amount of eye-candy. Just let your eyes do the work for this one.
