Review of Appleseed: Ex Machina (2007) by Richard B — 20 Mar 2008

Stunning is too weak a word for the visual feast presented here. It looks like Pixar has some real competition now. Also by pairing the Best animator of Meca Shinji Aramaki (Robo Tech, Transformers) with one of the best action directors John Woo and with Shirow Masamune's Manga and with him on board also.

You get a stunningly well done Anime that is more like a live action movie that will bring a not only those of us that love Anime and animation but also fans of Action movies this truly could mean that Anime has become mainstream.

Of course we know the Anime has become more popular as an ever growing film medium. Let's hope this will put it over the top. This really is a 4.5* movie(My Heart and my Eyes said 5 but there was this little voice that said 4)The visuals in the beginning where unbelievable and the rest of the film was Stunning.

Although some actions fans might not like the added drama this is meant to reach the widest possible audiences. Also this is not for the youngest viewers it is an action movie and has a lot of violence and gun fights and some adult language.

But as always this is just my opinion thank you for your time and I hoped this helped.
