Review of Appleseed: Ex Machina (2007) by Carol K — 25 Jun 2008
John Woo produced this anime, and his mark is all over it -- from flights of doves to raining bullet casings. The plot has much in common with standard Hong Kong guns-blazing cop-dramas (err, like John Woo's) as well.
For the first time we get Deunan's and Briareos' back story, and there is actually chemistry between them here (not so the first two anime). The CG is better than the second anime, and I for one was also glad to see Deunan's eyes are no longer the size of salad plates.
