Very enjoyable film. I approached this with some reservations, given that I find quite a lot of sci-fi anime is pretentious quasi-philosophical garbage. However, Appleseed: Ex Machina was pretty much pure mayhem without the pretense - and that's sometimes what the doctor orders.
