Review of Apollo 18 (2011) by Alexander Z — 30 Mar 2012
Apollo 18 is very atmospheric and recreates a pretty authentic feel of space. If the objective of the movie had been to immerse the audience, it would have succeeded well. Unfortunately, it wanted to tell a horror story, and it fails pretty hard, not because it's a bore or silly, but because the timing is off.
This is mostly due to the ambient sound effects, as they are somewhat inaccurate and entirely too overbearing.
