Review of Apollo 13 (1995) by Nick T — 24 Dec 2010
Re-watched this again recently in HD and couldn't get over how well this movie has been made and realistically created based on true facts. All those hard-working and determined people getting together to bring home three astronauts from a very dangerous scenario and failed mission to the moon.
The level of detail, visually and in the story really sucks you into this tense and thrilling adventure. Problem after problem keeps surfacing for the team and the craft and yet the minds of NASA manage to bring them home.
Claustrophobic scenes inside the craft, no heat and the very crew getting tired and ill is enough to run you down as you feel what they feel. Emotions run high towards the last few scenes and the music of James Horner brings the tears of joy out in some.
Amazing story made into a visual nail-biting adventure starring Tom Hanks as Jim Lovell.
