Review of Apollo 13 (1995) by Zaidsheikh94 S — 25 Feb 2010
Apollo 13 s one of the most inspirational movies ever made. Stunning performances, a remarkable score, technical accuracy, clarity of story, stunning explosion sequences, and a grand finale make this film a remarkable experience. This movie entertained me more than I expected it to. The beautiful thing was despite vastly using uncomprehendible technical terminology, the plot is pitch clear, not just the story line but the detail of the plot. This movie is brilliantly inspiring and makes you want to achieve your dreams. One stunning aspect of this film is that we all know what happens in the end but dspite that, Ron Howard creates moments of absolute tension. Off course this movie has a true story which adds to the spice.
James Horner has proven his ability to be a great composer composing a tension-filled score of Aliens, one of the most epic scores in Braveheart, a truly inspirational score in Apollo 13, a romantic theme for Titanic and another romantic and beautiful theme in Avatar.
Many critics have given this film a perfect rating but the RT Community has hardly given it a 10. This movie was nominated for best picture in 1995 but was beaten by a better movie Braveheart.
