A hugely underrated film although I thought by this time, Tom Hanks was getting way too many accolades. Given he had just done Forrest Gump and Philadelphia, perhaps it was justified. I loved how the lack of media coverage for the space program died down after the moon landing the year prior to Apollo 13 and I also loved NASA's and the astronauts' families' reactions to the sudden media coverage when trouble occurred to the Apollo 13 mission.
Ed Harris was excellent as the flight director as was Gary Sinise as Ken Mattingly. Great pacing by Ron Howard and one of the best films made about the space program.
