Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Sumit S — 09 Nov 2012
Unforgettable. Haunting. Visionary. Powerful. And Maddening. Apocalypse Now pushes cinema to unimaginable depths no one ever dared to delve into since or after. Its a work of madness. Its a work of genius.
Its a work of art. Its a work of agony. No movie has gone this deep to portray the ugly side of human psyche that the movie itself turns into one. One of the greatest work in cinema history, every frame of Apocalypse Now has madness written all over it.
Insane is the direction, insane are the performances, insane is its making & it will forever be remembered as the movie that descended everyone including itself into madness. In a sentence, Apocalypse Now is Francis Ford Coppola's magnum opus.
