A true journey into the heart of darkness. The film is without a doubt the best war film I have ever seen, mainly because it's actually able to transcend the war film genre altogether by the end. It's a film that perfectly captures the madness of war, and the insanity of the Vietnam War (a pointless war that had no rhyme or reason that turned those who fought in it insane).
It's a brilliant complex, perfect film that's got great performances. This is as dark as a film can get. It's long, but it's worth the ride. HIGHLY recommended.
