Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Tim W — 29 Jan 2014
A grand, mysterious and haunting film about the destruction and madness War leaves in it's wake. Simply a cinematic masterpiece. Even the rather straightforward narrative boils restlessly under the surface as we travel deeper into the jungle and we can feel the insanity slowly closing in on all sides.
The dark and troubling philosophical conclusion is showcase and pinnacle in acting and cinematography, that leaves you feeling you've been on a journey that's changed who you are.
