Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Landon M — 24 Jun 2015
A haunting and tense experience. This movie is a slow burn, but the journey the characters go through in this movie is intense and engaging. Martin Sheen was fantastic, Robert Duvall was awesome, and Marlon Brando gives my favorite performance he's ever done as the terrifying Colonel Kurtz.
The score is eerie, the visual style is creepy, and the cinematography is golden. The movie's metaphors and message really sinks in as the movie goes on. The final 30 minutes are some of the most tense scenes in movie history, worth watching the whole movie for.
It is a must-see for cinema-fans, and a great masterpiece. 9.75/10.
