Review of Apocalypse Now (1979) by Phani T — 28 Apr 2016

An excruciatingly long (200 mins) movie made more excruciatingly boring by the equally laborious slow screenplay. While the first 1 hour or so of bizarre violence, still feels a bit justified as depicting the truth of war, the remaining 2 hours are a nightmare of a drama - the last one hour or so is even shot with almost no light, making the watch even more terrible. Like Kultz says - the horror. the horror. of having watched this... And of course - the usual European/American/White superiority is present as is racism.

Skip it, unless you are your own enemy.
