Review of Anything Else (2003) by James C — 11 Oct 2007
Christina Ricci is a dream cast for the Allenian archetype of a confused, neurotic woman. Jason Biggs doesn't really cut it because he relies too much on physical humor, and Allen's humor is predominantly verbal.
Anyway, I liked the movie because it has all the qualities of a classic Woody Allen film- a troubled relationship as the backbone of the story and a group of phenomenally complicated characters. And Woody is there again, this time as Biggs' mentor.
