Review of Anything Else (2003) by Ian L — 31 Jul 2010
Gets a four for Woody Allen's sharp dialogue, he still sets the standard and pace for urbane comedy, understated and insightful. Rest of the film is ok and Christina Ricci is ideal as the high maintenance girlfriend who tortures the men who fall for her, I can recall a few girls like her in my youth who put me through the grinder.
I was less convinced about the casting of Jason Biggs in the lead role alongside Allen, he was too lightweight for my taste. Loved the Danny DeVito scene when he is fired.
