Review of Anything Else (2003) by Alejandro M — 08 Sep 2010
I like Woody and his films, because behind all his silly, foolish, lunatic comedy scenes and dialogues, there are deep academic psychiatry lessons.
This film is good, cause it is so real. It is our life and the dialogues, like other Allen's films, are brilliant.
I seriously believe the whole concept of the movie. There are lots of Amandas in our life who they don't know what they really want in their lives and unfortunately you love these aimless, empty, absurd creatures and when you wake up, you see you have lost lots of time.
These lines ,among the other marvelous dialogues, shine for me:
"...Falk, if a guy comes out onstage at Carnegie Hall and throws up, you can always find some people who will call it art.".
--------------------------------.
" ...Last night, l was home by myself and l conjured up a threesome with me, Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren. It was very erotic. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, it was the first time those two great actresses ever appeared in anything together.".
-------------------------------.
"... even a clock that's broken is right twice a day.".
