Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Emil K — 07 Sep 2008
Hyper-active Oliver Stone-film with way too much of his usual visual-trickery. Stone definetly knows how to handle his bipolar-camera for advantage, specially in films like JFK and U-Turn, but here it just goes a bit over the edge.
And havent we seen Al Pacino in these manic-parts a bit too often. I mean how much can he yell? This film is a sports-drama for MTV-generation. How I wish that Stone could just sometimes take it a bit easier with his camera.
