Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Tim T — 13 Jul 2009
Daniel Pyne, John Logan and Oliver Stone's screenplay kind of misses for me. I would have liked for it to have stayed more focused on something more profound.
Having said that, I had a great time watching ANY GIVEN SUNDAY.
Director Oliver Stone handled the translation to the screen masterfully. It is obvious that he loves football, because it was the first time that I saw football sequences in a movie that looked like I was watching the super bowl.
Stone also loves his actors as he elicits very fine performances out of Cameron Diaz, Dennis Quiad, Jamie Fox and, of course, Al Pacino.
