Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Brian R — 23 Dec 2011
Oliver Stone takes on the world of professional football in Any Given Sunday. Stone continues with his awesome viceral style and fast paced editing the only problem is it's way over done and the film lacks in the understanding of football.
The film is all smoke and mirrors and we only get a taste of what goes on in the field and the shady deals from the team doctors and the football orginization, the football scenes needed work because it's not really understood Stone edits and shows tilts and whirls of tackles and unbelivable TD.
Any Given Sunday isn't a bad picture it's never boring, I'd recommend it.
