Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Barbara S — 11 Nov 2008
How the mighty have fallen. Al Pacino was onec a subtle, brilliant actor. You wouldn't know it from this film. He's either yelling, or acting sullen, with no shades of gray. As for the film, it is only notable for the emergence of a new star on the Hollywood scene: Jamie Foxx.
He probably delivers the only good performance in the whole film. Other than that, it's an empty film, that might have been made better with actual NFL licensing, but probably not.
