Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Rana A — 02 Mar 2009
This is an interesting look into the world of pro football. While the movie might have more misses than hits, I like that Stone went about directing this movie as if it was a war film instead of just a football story.
Although the usual sport movies cliches are there and there is quite a bit of overacting (I give Pacino a pass tho since he always does that, lol), it is not an completely bad movie and has some redeemable qualities.
Its good to finally see a sports movie that seems more like a war film or gangster film than the usual inspirational sports figure/team.
