Regardless of what everyone else says, Any Given Sunday is a good film. You can tell it is, because I said so. It's not perfect in any manner, but it's very well done. The one gripe I have is that it's three-goddamn-hours long.
Not really an on-point portrayal of the NFL, but it does touch on a lot of reasons why fans would have a love-hate relationship with it, as well as professional sports in general. ESPN's "Playmakers" encompasses a lot of what this film tried to do.
