Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Avtar R — 26 Mar 2011
Nothing ties people together better than a sport. The film explores this, and much more. Apart from being a film on a sports team that finds itself in a desperate situation and manages to pull itself out of it, it goes on to explain what happens behind the scenes in any professional team and what the players, owners and fans face.
Really good cast, although it's not pitted as one of Al Pacino's best films, I thought he was really good. Cameron Diaz initially tends to get on your nerves but she settled in quite well. Great work by Dennis Quaid, you can always rely on him to deliver a solid performance.
All in all, it's a good movie, it's entertaining, it's slightly long, but it's definitely worth a watch.
