Review of Any Given Sunday (1999) by Shilpi B — 22 Oct 2008
This is, in true form, some of the weakest work oliver stone has given to an audience. it lacks any real heart or any ambition in tackling its issues. it plays off as sports drama romp disguising its image as a michael mann drama.
pacino, as well as a majority of the cast truly bring nothing to the table. some may say that it attempts to point out how we treat athletes, but what I mainly got out of this was an overly long, overly dramatic waste of time that seemed to try and be a flashy sports film rather than any kind of unique approach to the athletics industry.
