This really is a fantastic tale of "almost success", caught somewhere between "This Is Spinal Tap" and "American Movie". Though it could hardly be classified as "deep", it most certainly is riveting.
..and endearing. Steve "Lips" Kudlow is a lovable loser within a spirited optimism that shines despite its obvious futility. I found myself wanting him to succeed but chuckling at the sheer impossibility.
The pacing can be sporadic and time jumps by within wicked swings, but yet I was truly saddened that it had to end.
