ANVIL! THE STORY OF ANVIL (81/100) Beavis and Butt-Head meets Spinal Tap--but in real life. Had I seen this movie without prior knowledge, I would have thought the characters and story were a little over the top.
Knowing this was a true story, though, I felt a little guilty laughing at the main characters, who suck all nobility at the of notion of the quixotic in their single-minded--or more aptly, single-headed --pursuit of fame and hair-band booty.
While I don't find their pursuit noble, it is impossible not to find it pathetic: seeing the hardcore metal front-man failing at eight hours of telemarketing because he is too polite; watching the reaction of family members; looking into the eyes of clueless frustration.
It is strange that it should hold your attention but it does.
