Review of Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008) by Bill C — 23 Dec 2009

A documentary with a heart that I can get behind. I've never been a huge fan of Anvil, but anyone could be at least a passing fan after seeing this film. Lips unfettered determination and his tumultuous relationship with Robb are the main features but they make for an engrossing story.

Follow the band through the highs and lows of a new tour, writing and recording a new record, searching for a record company, the album release and all the stuff in between. It seems odd to say the film is about optimism due to the setbacks incurred, but the men's will to be rock stars triumphs in a way that you have to watch to believe.
