Review of Anvil! The Story of Anvil (2008) by Joseph F — 28 May 2011

I honestly thought this was a mocumentary, a la Spinal Tap, but it turns out that it's truly sincere... and based on reality (whatever that is). I guess the moral is that if you stick with something long enough, you can win.

And small victories count. Then again, there is such a hard divide between success (selling millions of records and becoming rich and famous) and failure (anything else)... Seems to me there should be some middle ground.

I mean, sticking with it for decades AND making music AND doing what you love even when you have to keep a day job... well, that seems like a win to me. Even if not to the whole wide world.
