Review of Antz (1998) by Ryan V — 12 Oct 2012
A lowly worker ant (Woody Allen) is unsatisfied with his insignificant place in the world. He pines away for a lady who turns out to be an ant princess (Sharon Stone), but his path is waylaid by a war against local termites.
Eventually trapped in wilderness with the object of his affection, this insecure insect must find his place in the world. Although frequently compared unfavorably to A Bug's Life, which came out roughly at the same time, this animated feature has its share of cheeky humor and vibrant imagery.
It winds up being a serviceable feature for both kids and animation buffs.
