Review of Antz (1998) by Alex C — 18 Jul 2015
This was quite possibly the best animated film I can remember watching. The voice actors were phenomenal, the premise was fantastic, and the execution was a joy to watch from start to finish. The message was strong and clear, but didn't detract from the quality of the storytelling at all.
Mush-free and full of laughs and quite a few lines that will make you think, "Antz" is a tier above everyone else, including "Bug's Life," which can't even compare. The questions raised in "Antz" are ones we should all be asking ourselves: what does it mean to be an individual, what does it mean to work in a group, and to whom are we responsible for our actions? If you haven't seen it yet, it's on Netflix: queue it up!
