Review of Antz (1998) by Stacy L — 04 Jul 2012
When I watch Dreamworks movies (except for Shrek and How to Train Your Dragon), I feel like I'm reading an elementary school kid's short story, and I'm not really entertained. Most of the jokes that Dreamworks comes up with are more childish than funny, even though they try so hard to come up mature, edgy jokes.
One of the best examples of a Dreamworks movie that tries too hard and fails is Antz. Antz is a seriously overrated and unimaginative movie that tries to be edgy and mature, but end up being nothing more than a mess of forced jokes and innuendos that sound like they were written by a 12-year-old boy who's trying too hard to look like a man.
More proof that Dreamworks seriously needs to take a lesson for Pixar.
