Excellent movie. Well made- great script. The way that Denzel Washington (the director) faded back and forth from the past to the present was nice. I think that while the movie was well made and entertaining, it was interesting to see taboo topics in the African-American community treated artistically and with taste.
It would have been easy to completely horify viewers by showing a lot more of what was referred to, but Washington was tasteful and let the viewer come up with their own imagery.
