Review of Antonia's Line (1995) by Darcy H — 12 Jun 2007
There is a part in this movie where the granddaughter and the grandmother are riding a big, old draft horse down the country lane. This intimate view of granddaughter and grandmother; the younger entwined, sheltered and protected by her grandmother engaged me on such an intimate level.
This cross-generational, women of the community included, film may not favorably look at the men in their lives but it shows the ties that bind women better than any other movie I have ever experienced.
