Review of Antonia's Line (1995) by Shane P — 02 Jul 2007
A fantastic Dutch film that employs elements of magical realism not unlike most latin films and some of Tim Burtons work. This film is touted as a feminist fairy tale although the subtle commentary on Dutch society post-WWII is hard to miss such as eugenics, euthanasia, and colonialism. I highly recommend this film if you enjoyed:
-Delicatesen.
-Pans Labrynth.
-Big Fish.
