Review of Antiviral (2012) by Kate H — 13 Oct 2012
We now know that we wont have to distinguish between Jr. and Sr. when we say a film has a Cronenbergian feel as Brandon clearly follows in his father's footsteps with his creation of Antiviral.
The film is smart, thought provoking, visceral, disturbing and at times very disgusting.
This look at celebrity infatuation is at times a little slow in paced, has a very hygienic set design and comes with a lo-fi appearance and this all combines to form this icky diseased hyper telling of a part of society in a way that is realistic but surreal at the same time.
This is the kind of film I love and look forward to more Cronenberg in the future.
