In this entertaining thriller, Ryan Phillipe plays a young brilliant computer whiz Milo Hoffman after graduating from Stanford and getting out into the competitive world of computer software gets the opportunity of a lifetime working at an exciting and lucrative job at the world's largest computer company named N.U.R.V handpicked by powerful C.E.O Gary Winston to work on a project that will forever change the way the world will work in the future. They are on the brink of completing the global communication's system, Synapse Gary is showing Milo the ropes trying everything he can do to convince his young protigee that working for him would be the best experience he'll ever know. Buying him cars, sending him gorgeous women and offering Milo lots of money to not change his mind and to enjoy the perks of working at his company. Milo begins to enjoy the lifestyle much to his friends dismay, especially his best friend Teddy who thinks Milo is making a big mistake by joining this company and Teddy is willing to find out anything to prove himself right. When Milo's best friend is brutally murdered by a few henchman, Milo slowly discovers that the man responsible for his friend's murder might be the same man he is working for, CEO Gary Winston. Milo decides to take upon himself to find the out the truth behind his teddy's death and is willinng to risk everything for it. With the help of his old friend, his new girlfriend alice poulson played by the ebautiful calire forlani, a sexy programmer Lisa calighan played by rachel leigh cook and his old friends he will find out who killed his best friend and will do whatever it takes to take down his boss and his fellow cohorts before they destory him and kill anymore people he loves. But as he eventually discovers who is involved with his friends death he realised that besides his boss being involved but the two women in his life could also be involved and now who could he trust?

This is defintly a guilty pleasure. While a bunch of critics made fun and gave bad reviews to this film, I just enjoyed for what it is. IT might not win an oscar but still a lot more entertaining than a bunch of films that won awards. With very good acting from Tim Roibbins seems to be channelling Bill gates and seems to be enjoying every moment of it, ryan phillipe who porved he can act in cruel intentions keeps getting better, rachel leigh cooke and Calire forlani do the best they can without just being more than eye candy all are fine in a film that is wirtten with wit and charm and good direction and the fact that what happens in the film could actually happen today makes a bit scary.

A guilty pleasure worth watching.
