Review of Antitrust (2001) by Isaac W — 12 Jun 2008
I'm a geek, I have to love this movie. This has to be the best movie for portraying real geeks. It doesn't get everything right, but I like that they can still effectivly tell the story while showing the programmers working with realistic interfaces and real programming languages (mostly).
All the other geek movies I've seen portray hackers or programmers doing the impossible using bizarre graphical interfaces, or magical hologram displays, or some kind of made up protocol. I still enjoy those other movies, but I like this story because it's the closest one to actually being able to happen.
(side note: a geek that looks like Rachael Leigh Cook?... I guess it could happen, but I've never seen it.).
