Review of Anthropoid (2016) by Keegan K — 04 Oct 2017
Wow! The movie looked amazing but I didn't know it would be this serious. This is one of those World War II movies, which I hardly ever watch this genre, and the first half of the movie is the build up as they put together their plans to assassinate one of the highest ranking German officials. The second half is where all of the action actually takes place.
It's insane! I was on the edge of my seat the second half of the movie. I love the entire cast, I love the accents, the girls were beautiful, I love the hint of romance, and it was really eye-opening to see all the effort that went into planning an assassination attempt. Plus they did an amazing job with the color grading and the sets and really making it a time piece movie.
There is one crazy torture scene which will make you squirm. And the final showdown at the end is intense. Great movie! But you're not walking away excited or happy. It's somber. But cool.
