Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Mike L — 20 Jul 2018
Ant Man and The Wasp was enjoyable. Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michael Pena are very good and it's always good to see Michael Douglas and the venerable Michelle Pfeiffer on screen. I also continue to applaud the way they tie the Marvel Comics Universe together, this time via references to previous outings in various movies and especially through the interesting post final credits scene.
As the critics have all said, this is a funny movie. It's also enjoyable to find a "villain" who is nothing more than a woman who wants to be healed. All good stuff. That said, as I've felt over several recent MCU outings, the film felt hollow to me.
Fun, but hollow.
