Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by David Q — 23 Aug 2018
This movie was worthy of a second showing. It was funny and well done. So good even the worlds best grandma should see it.
Lawrence Fishburne was a great new addition. I knew he was a questionable character but a surprise I did not see. The civility between him and hank showed that despite personal differences, a hero still strives to do good. I think the best part of the movie is that in the end we see the struggle all heroes go through to do the right thing. Even those that have retired.
Now for the bad: I don't know if it added anything particularly new to The Marvel franchise. It felt like it should have been released before Infinity War. The bait and switch seemed like Disney's attempt to get the audience out in order to learn more rather than giving us a solid addition to the franchise.
Its worthy of a watch. Maybe two. The theater was packed weeks after it opened so that's a good sign.
