Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Seth V — 11 Aug 2018
A very light movie, effortlessly seaming jokes into the plot. Unfortunately, this MCU movie, unlike its predecessors (with the exception of Dr Strange), fails to keep its ideas at least somewhat grounded in science and semi-believable technological advancements.
This movie, the writers, as Paul Rudd said, "put the word 'quantum' in front of everything" and apparently expected to get away with basically magic with little to no consequences. The list of unbelievable garbage includes- spoiler alerts ahead- a character with the ability to pass through anything because of a quantum explosion.
At least Thor was a god (even if Odin says otherwise). Another character is able to control another from a different level of reality because of a quantum linking. The list goes on. This is what kept it from a five star.
