Review of Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) by Brendan N — 28 Jul 2018

I enjoyed this film and while I didn't have it at the same rating as the first film, mainly because Marvel unleashes yet another mediocre villain. This is starting to become a severe problem and a growing trend in the comic to film genre.

I caught The Dark Knight just the other night and you can't compare a film like that to this, The Joker has that intense presence you just want to see him more and more. The villain here might share an unfortunate connection with the lead characters but the end result is underdeveloped yet again.

The film is hilarious, which seems to be the Marvel setup for the Phase three films. This is a nice one, two for the Ant-Man films but I get the sense the novelty is beginning to show with this long franchise.

A great popcorn film but not the best film out there, more depth in future films please. 29/07/2018.
